The Derby Street Children’s Centre expansion project was successfully completed, delivering a modern and functional upgrade to support the growing needs of local families.

The works involved a major refurbishment and extension of the existing centre, increasing total capacity from 83 to 110 places and enhancing facilities for children, educators, and visiting specialists.

The project delivered two new kindergarten rooms accommodating 29 and 31 children, along with new children's toilets servicing the learning spaces. It also provided a new office, staff room, and fully equipped commercial kitchen, as well as a new meeting/therapy space and an upgraded foyer. In addition, the works included a new staff toilet and an accessible toilet.

The completed upgrade provided a significantly expanded and more efficient early years facility, supporting higher enrolments and offering improved spaces for learning, care, and staff operations.
